Emerald Cascade

On a waterfall of white, a backdrop of jade, she lays in calm and passive repose. 

This small work, divided almost in half, hides the form of a reclining woman as a warm slash across the canvas.  The active and textural brushwork add to the interest, at once seen as a hopscotch of colors and directional strokes, and also as the female form that she is.
